It’s kinda funny to see search engines behave so abnormally. We recently launched a site that is about funny myspace images, videos, jokes and puzzles. We have had the URL www.binarychaos.org registered for about 5 years. Well not “we” but my partner Sabaina had this domain with her for a long time. For a couple of years, she maintained it has a her personal website and an online space to showcase some of her earlier work and y’know to just play around and stuff. Recently, the site had become almost inactive and she had no time to do something about it so we decided to make a site which would let myspace users to find and use funny images, clean jokes, videos and puzzles. The name was perfect ‘Binary Chaos’ so it all made sense. Anyway, a few days after we launched the site and we had only started marketing it…. we observed a few visitors from search engines like Yahoo and Google!
I mean I was thinking that I’ll have to optimize the site even more and do some offline optimization too (link building, marketing, adding unique content etc etc) but there we are, right on the top (well… almost) and we are enjoying some traffic from the site that we justtt launched a couple of weeks ago.
What I expect is that the Ageing has played a major issue here. If you got a domain which is about 3-4 years old and has no PR then believe me, it’s a keeper and if you don’t want it. I would very much like to have it
By the way our site is ranking well on Yahoo and Google against different keywords. Some of them are funny myspace images, jokes for myspace, clean jokes and pictures, myspace puzzels, funny clean videos and a lot more.
Oh and one more thing… I just realized that WordPress is slow! It’s slower than blogspot! They should do something about it and make the dashboard load fast!
